GoRead – News for June
We’re now welcoming authors in Finland and Denmark to GoRead! They can publish e-books and audiobooks on the streaming services and order printed books for their own sales (distribution to bookstores currently takes place only in Sweden). In late summer, we’ll also be launching a new translation feature in the platform. Here’s a summary of what the GoRead team has launched recently and what we’re working on right now:
NEWS
GoRead expands to Denmark and Finland. We have now launched GoRead in our neighboring countries and the website is available in local languages. A warm welcome! To start with, we offer publishing of e-books and audiobooks for these markets, as well as the option to order printed books for your own sales. Distribution of printed books to local bookstores in Denmark and Finland is something we plan to offer in the future.
Support for more manuscript languages and new AI voices. In connection with the expansion, it is now possible to upload manuscripts in Swedish, Finnish, Danish, and English. The flow works the same way as before, and we have also added new AI voices adapted to the new languages.
The website available in multiple languages. To make the platform more accessible, we now offer the website in several languages, also for those of you in Sweden. If you prefer a language other than Swedish, you can easily change it via the language selector at the top right of the page.
Two new formats for printed books. We’re expanding our offering and now provide three different formats for those of you who want to print your book:
Large paperback (softcover 135x210mm) - A popular large paperback format in softcover. Recommended for fiction books.
Hardcover (135x210mm) - A classic hardcover book with a hard cover. Recommended for shorter books (for example children’s books or novellas).
Paperback (softcover 155x230mm) - A paperback book in a larger softcover format. Works well for, among other things, nonfiction books.
IN PROGRESS
Translations. We’re working on integrating AI translations directly into the platform. This means you’ll be able to translate your already uploaded manuscript into other languages. This gives you as an author the opportunity to reach an international audience by publishing your e-book and audiobook in more markets. The feature is expected to be in place in late summer.
Audible. Work on our integration with Audible is in its final phase. This will be a valuable channel for reaching out with your audiobooks, especially in combination with the upcoming translation feature.
Author page coming. Soon you’ll be able to create your own author page. This is beneficial in two ways. First, you create a consolidated presentation about you, your books, and your authorship that publishers, media, and readers can access. Second, we can send this information to the platforms that have areas for author presentations. That way you will be featured there.
Read the newsletter on GoRead’s website, and take the opportunity to upload your manuscript today!
