  • JK Rowling Biopic: A screenplay, called “When Lightning Strikes,” has made “the black list” for 2017 scripts, and is catching a lot of buzz. A page of the script has been released, and we’re all getting excited over the prospects of commemorating the life of a young J.K. Rowling and her rise to success.
  • The Magicians: Lev Grossman’s “The Magicians” fantasy trilogy has been adapted into a successful show on SyFy network….and season 3 is back this week! Get to binge reading, if you still need to finish before watching, and join in on the discussion!
  • One of the “Central Nine” Writes a Book: 60 years ago, nine black students integrated into Little Rock, Arkansas’ Central High School – and now we’ll get a book from the perspective of one of the nine!
  • New York Prisons Restrict Literature Choices for Inmates: In an effort to enhance safety and security in prison facilities, a directive from the NY State Department has limited the vendors that inmates can receive packages from, and banned gifts by outside family and friends.
