January is almost at a close. How has it been for your so far? Are you focused on your goals? Did you set any? It is not too late to start. I am excited to share with you these 10 steps that will set you off on the right path, as gleaned from the great insights of Mark Cole. The steps are working for me and I am sure you will find some gold in the following:

1.     Commit to make a difference:

  • Are you committed to make your life count before you challenge others to make theirs count?
  • Make a list of who you can impact
  • Power in numbers – How many people can you impact simultaneously?

2.     Recognize the power of quitting:

  • Winners stop doing things that are not good for them and losers stop doing thing that are good for them. Are you acting like a winner or a loser?
  • Quitting counts when you quit something that does not make a difference to do something that does. What do you need to quit?
  • You need to give up to go up!

3.     Eliminate tired goals:

  • Identify and bury them!

4.     Make today count:

  • You still have to live one day at a time
  • What are you doing TODAY that impacts your 2018 goals the most

5.     Stop celebrating “busyness”:

  • Get down to “business” instead!

6.     Keep a time log:

  • The value of time lies not in the number of hours, but in how we use them!

7.     Reject fear by acting:

  • Identify your fears
  • Make a list and keep it where you will see it
  • Lean into your fears
  • Take action toward that which you fear – do not become paralyzed!

8.     Replenish yourself:

  • Identify that which fuels you – what give you energy?
  • Make a list and keep it where you can see it
  • Determine how much “me time” you need each week
  • Keep a log of the time you spend to replenish

9.     Welcome Problems:

  • Problems are a fact of life that you cannot change, but you can change your attitude about them
  • Your problems will change when you change your attitude
  • Eliminate excuses
  • At the end of the day, reflect on how you handled the problems that you faced

10. Celebrate Success!!

  • You can encourage and inspire others only once you have seen and experienced success
  • Each and every day, take time to think about what you can celebrate
  • Write about it or share it with someone important in your life
