What makes a woman strong? We are not talking about Xena the warrior princess, a professional wrestler, or a boxing champion. We’re talking about someone with qualities that make her overcome hurdles and obstacles all on her own.

She takes her vulnerabilities in her stride and shows her flaws to the world with pride instead of shame.

A strong woman is someone who has been through many struggles, made sacrifices, and taken difficult decisions till she became self-reliant, caring, fearless, trustworthy, and independent. This strong woman could be your mother, sister, teacher, friend, or even yourself. But most of these qualities are usually a little hard for men or sometimes other loved ones to handle.

Here are 10 such qualities of strong women that makes it hard for others to keep up with her:

1. She Is Her Own Fighter

A woman with such inner strength is independent and can take care of herself. She will not just fight her own battles but will help you fight yours too. Not playing victim or victor, she sees her man as a companion to go hand-in-hand. She showers her closed ones with love and affection selflessly but not at the risk of being used or taken for granted.

2. She Knows What She Wants

A woman who is strong knows what she wants, what it would take to get it, and if it’s worth it. This includes being the one to chase a man she is interested in, her ambitions, or even just pushing herself to do better. She does not need someone to do her work, but will rather go for it herself, no matter how hard the way might be. This trait can however be very intimidating, because she will showcase even her submissiveness with an underlying power; those around may not know what to do for her because she does it for herself.

3. She Respects Honesty And Vulnerability

A strong woman is not a helpless damsel or even a wonder woman. She is simply her own person, without bringing anyone else down to be so. She has a deep understanding of herself and others, almost like a self-taught psychologist. This means she does not hesitate to ask herself, others, or her man the tough questions and go in-depth into their mindset, childhood, any trauma, and life-changing experiences.

She is not afraid of showing her vulnerability honestly and hopes the same from her man too, knowing that there will be no judging or patronizing. She sees every person as a human with your own story and point of view and helps you do so as well. And this is how she knows if you’re the one who will be beside her to face life’s toughest situations; if not, she can do it herself.

4. She Will Not Shy Away From Intimacy

A strong woman is not the type to shy away from intimacy but in fact challenges and surprises her man with it. As someone who is comfortable in her own skin, if she loves you, she will not hold back in expressing her feelings. She also hopes her loved one will be open to deeper intimacy, so they can both be mutually passionate in showing each other that they are the one.

5. She May Be a Human Lie Detector

A strong woman considers trust as one of the highest virtues and does not idly give it to anyone. She trusts and expects it from those who she thinks is worthy, who are truthful and don’t sugar-coat their words, give false promises, excuses or are pretentious. She will probably see right through any selfishness or fake behaviors. If you can’t be totally honest with her, she will have no problems in cutting you out of her life.

6. She Needs Integrity, Respect, and Consistency

Knowing her worth and value, she does not act kindly toward those who are hypocritical or inconsistent in their words and actions. If a man acts distant, she will return the favor and not let herself be played with. As a passionate lover, she will put you in your place if you disrespect her or treat her like she is weak. She needs someone who will respect her enough to let her take charge and not look down on her; she will do the very same thing for you too.

7. She Can Be Intense and Hard To Handle

Going through her own set of struggles, she can be very intense; this could be hard to endure for the people she loves. Whether it is her point of view, emotional outbursts, or deep thoughts and scars, they are all something she wants to show and share proudly with her partner and expects you to show yourself the same way—no secrets and no hiding.

8. She Knows Her Worth and Yours Too

This type of woman will go through hell for you if you are loyal and committed to her. But if you falter or do not reciprocate, she has no issues letting you go as she feels she deserves better and has no time for your games. She is fine with getting hurt, caring for her own wounds and getting back up, facing new challenges, and finding a worthy partner again.

9. She Loves Unconditionally

She is faithful and has a motherly nurturing side to her that she shows to people she loves. She expects her partner to love her back with similar intensity and will do anything to guide, support, love, and fight for him; so he gets the best out of her too. This kind of unconditional love is very rare to match and hard to find. The less stronger men probably flee before manning up to the challenge of loving her with the such selflessness.

10. She Will Show You Who You Are and Can Be

A woman like this is the type who is in your face, will analyze you, and try to show you who you are, even the parts you do your best to hide. She will tell you how amazing you are and what you are capable of and also point out your mistakes, helping you to correct. This powerful persona of hers can be hard for men to handle as it puts them into an emotional chaos.

With this strong sense of self assertiveness, independence, honesty, and even a deep passion, a strong woman needs a strong man. Anyone else is free to leave and find someone more suitable for him, as she is more than capable of living happily flying solo.
